This is a very new restaurant in Seattle and I was lucky to experience it when I finished my visit to Pike Place Market. I was seated at the Chef’s Counter overlooking the open kitchen, which offered a great view.
They have a very interesting menu of small plates and entrees, as well as a drink pairing menu which offers their handcrafted cocktails as complements to the food. For wine lovers, their wine list is impressive. I started with a cocktail called the 5 O’Clock Shadow – Black Pepper infused Scotch, Moscatel Sherry, Lambrusco, Lime and . . . a Serrano ham garnish!!!!
While I was enjoying my very interesting drink, I was presented with a complimentary chef starter, which you know from previous posts I absolutely love about a restaurant. This was a Jamon Iberico, beautifully presented and very tasty!
Next up was my first course, the Beet Salad – honey-chevre, chermoula, orange and pistachio praline. Delicious.
And for my main course, the Grilled Scallop with Meyer lemon vinaigrette, Miner’s lettuce, caviar lentil and sea bean. A beautiful dish.
In addition to enjoying the food, I also enjoyed the atmosphere of Heartwood Provisions. Although I sat at the Chef’s counter, I felt very much a part of the whole lively and fun restaurant.
I would definitely go back to Heartwood. I received great service at the counter and very much enjoyed my evening. They are located at 1103 1st Avenue.
