When I layover in Dallas, there’s usually one thing on my mind, and that’s finding a good steak. I tried YO Ranch Steakhouse in the West End Historic District this time, and it was well worth the Uber ride!
The atmosphere is bright yet cozy and rustic at the same time.
They have a nice selection of cocktails and wine. I had the Dirty Marshall, featuring Herman Marshall rye from Garland, TX, mint simple syrup, grapefruit and lime. Yummmm.
For my first course I had the Smoked Sweet Corn Bisque – velvety cream corn soup topped with wild boar bacon and cojita cheese. It was delicious.
My main course was the Smoked Filet Mignon topped with corn chipotle cream. I added a side of Maple Dijon Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon. The steak was cooked to perfection and amazing. The brussels sprouts were delicious as well. YO Ranch also features a Buffalo Filet Mignon as a specialty, which has been featured on The Food Network. I was torn as to what to order, and although I absolutely loved my filet mignon, next time I think I’ll try the buffalo.
My entire experience at YO Ranch Steakhouse was wonderful – including the friendly and welcoming host staff and my very efficient and gracious server, Caesar. If you’re in Dallas, be sure to eat at YO. They are located at 702 Ross Avenue.
