Bankers Hill Restaurant and Bar is a hidden gem located off the grid in the Park West neighborhood of San Diego. I’m thrilled I found it! The cocktails and food are spectacular. The atmosphere is bright and industrial and my comfortable bar seat gave me a great view of it all.
The cocktail list at Bankers Hill really impressed me. If you’ve been reading my blog you know I’m somewhat of a cocktail connoisseur. These hand crafted cocktails blew me away. I started with the Millenial Gimlet – Old Harbor San Miguel Gin, cucumber basil syrup, lime and black pepper. This drink was beautiful and absolutely delicious. The secret weapon was definitely the black pepper.
The food menu at Bankers Hill is an eclectic and satisfying array of starters, sides, share plates and entrees. No matter your taste, there is something here for you. I chose the Charred Tomato Gazpacho – rock fish ceviche, avocado, cucumber, pasilla peppers and spiced tortilla chips. It was amazing. Along with it I had the Avocado and Grapefruit Salad – pistachio crusted goat cheese, cara cara oranges and lemon vinaigrette. It was equally as amazing.
Although I contemplated having a glass of wine with dinner, I couldn’t resist ordering another hand crafted cocktail. I chose The Stalker – jalapeno infused tequila, lime, celery syrup and smoked salt. Yes, it was as good as it sounds.
Bankers Hill is located at 2202 4th Avenue. And you have to go if you’re in San Diego.
